The Shadow Foundation at Mimi's House equips young woman ages 18 through 21 years old with the skills and education necessary to become independent, productive adults. The program’s goal is to help daughters of mothers who are incarcerated develop much-needed independent living skills in a nurturing environment that offers stability, consistency and safety. Created for older teens who truly have no otherwise resources, the program provides no-cost: Shelter (up to two years) and basic necessities like food and clothing, Medical and dental care, Psychological assessments and mental health services, Counseling, Education assistance, Job aptitude evaluation and career planning services, Life skills training, Recreational opportunities, Assistance locating and leasing apartments and Case management Youth can move through the program at their own pace and retain access to counseling and case management services even after exiting Mimi's House.
